Shipping policy
General Information
For all non-Gauteng deliveries, shipping fees are not calculated at checkout. Please select “Local Pickup” when completing your order.
Once payment is complete, we will assist in arranging delivery anywhere in South Africa—either through your own transporter or via a quotation from our preferred shipping partner (subject to availability in your area).
Customers are responsible for arranging cross-border transport.
Please note: Returns or refunds related to shipping arrangements, logistics, or courier costs are not offered.
Finalising Shipping Arrangements
Items cannot be reserved until shipping has been confirmed.
Please ensure your purchase is checked out and paid for before we begin arranging transport.
For areas outside Gauteng, deliveries are facilitated through our preferred third-party service provider, or you may choose your own.
Shipping quotes for furniture are based on the item’s dimensions, volumetric size, and/or weight.

Glass Items & Crating
Shipping items that contain glass to areas outside Gauteng is not recommended.
Where crating is required for safe transport, both the process and payment must be arranged directly by the purchaser.
If you choose to ship glass without crating (e.g., mirrors attached to dressers), you do so at your own risk.
Additional wrapping fees will apply for glass or glass-containing items due to the extra materials required.
Wrapping of Goods
All items transported outside Gauteng are wrapped securely by The Retro Collection at a starting cost of R100 per item.
This fee varies depending on size and materials required.
Glass items or items containing glass will incur a separate wrapping charge.
Insurance & Liability
The responsibility to insure purchased items during transit lies solely with the customer.
Once goods leave our premises and are handed to a third-party courier or transporter, The Retro Collection cannot be held liable for any loss or damage that may occur during delivery.
Courier Shipping for Small Items
Smaller items within our Decor/Collectibles category can be shipped via local courier services.
Quotes are based on weight and/or dimensions and must be paid before dispatch.
Courier fees are for the customer’s account.

Collection & Storage Policy
All items must be collected or delivered within 3 days of purchase unless an alternative arrangement is agreed upon in writing.
If no communication is received and no storage arrangement is made, and goods remain uncollected for more than 2 weeks, the items will be re-listed for sale.
Should a refund become due after the resale:
