Refunds, Returns & Collection Policy
Item Condition & Descriptions
All photographs form part of each product’s official description. Our furniture is restored with care to showcase its original mid-century character; however, most items were produced between the 1950s and late 1980s. As a result, light signs of age may still be visible even after refurbishment.
Because of this, many pieces are sold voetstoots (as is). Customers are welcome to view items in person before completing a purchase.
Returns & Refund Eligibility
We adhere to the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
Returns that fall under the “general right of return” do not apply to second-hand goods and are therefore not offered.
Please note:

Returns or refunds based on shipping arrangements or courier costs are not supported.

No store credit is offered.

No lay-bys are available.

Payflex transactions cannot be refunded.
To request a return, email theretrocollection@yahoo.com. All return requests are assessed individually.
If approved, refunds are processed through the same payment gateway used at checkout. When this is not possible, an EFT refund will be made to the customer’s nominated bank account.
A 5% refund fee (based on the original order value) applies to all approved refunds.
For a return to be accepted, the item must be:

in the same condition in which it was received,
-
unused,
-
in its original packaging, and
-
accompanied by proof of purchase.
Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing with The Retro Collection.
Sale items are strictly non-returnable.
Collection, Delivery & Storage
Purchases must be collected or delivered within 3 days of the sale, unless an alternative arrangement is made.
If no communication is received and no storage agreement is in place, and items remain uncollected for more than 2 weeks, they will be placed back on sale.
Should a refund become due after the resale, the following fees will apply:

a 30% deduction from the re-sale price, and
-
the standard 5% refund fee,
to cover administrative work, packaging, banking costs, tax implications, online platform fees, and storage.
